Safeway

Apparently if you ask for a sample of any food or drink1 at Safeway, company policy is that they have to give you it. Even for fancy stuff like smoked salmon. Though they’ll throw away any open packets, so that’s on your conscience.

There’s a handy script for auto-clipping coupons.

The self-checkout is just as broken as you thought, and supposedly still runs Windows XP.

The deli will also slice any meat you buy from them for free, so no need to pay extra for pre-sliced meat. Same for the butcher. You may as well work the butcher with something tricky, they’re probably bored stiff.

  1. Except alcohol.
